Japanese Incense - Oedo-Koh Water Drop

29,80 €
Épuisé

This fragrance has the warmth and glow of the moment you step out of the bath. Beyond the warmth and comforting notes you’ll also get fresh and clean – all achieved through a complex blend of delicate plant ingredients.

In the Edo Period people didn’t have baths at home, and around 600 public bathhouses were built in Edo to meet demand. At first, they were steam baths, then large bathtubs were developed. As all were naked and people commingled without regard for age, gender or rank, the bathhouse was an egalitarian place.

The package contains 60 sticks and a small ceramic holder offered. Made in Japan.

The high quality incense "OEDO-KOH":

Their subtly blended fragrances are related to tales that were popular during the Edo period (1603-1868). Each of these incenses, in traditional colors, is carefully handcrafted by artisans in Tokyo.

The packaging:

The refined presentation of these incenses is in itself an evocation of the Edo period: a paulownia wooden box decorated with Japanese motifs in traditional colors and, inside, reproductions of Ukiyo-e paintings typical of the Edo period. aesthetics of this glorious era.

The incense holder:

Each box contains an incense holder whose color is reminiscent of the stones that covered the ground of Edo. Pewter was a metal favored by the upper class during the Edo period. The tin stand included in the box can be washed with water and will last a long time.
